Rural Communities Have What It Takes To Beat Poverty
The development of rural communities is the ultimate outcome of the transactions between physical, technological, economic, socio-cultural and institutional factors. The approaches and the strategies need to be designed to bring about improvements, primarily in the living conditions of the individuals, belonging to deprived, marginalized and socio-economically backward sections of the society. To promote the development of rural areas, it is necessary to represent an intersection between agricultural, social, managerial, behavioral and engineering sciences
When there are implementation of policies, practices, strategies and approaches aiming at rural development, then the individuals need to generate awareness in terms of deficient areas and challenges, which the rural individuals are experiencing. The organizations and agencies are required to work in collaboration and integration with each other to achieve the desired goals and objectives. Many developing countries have been working effectively towards development of rural communities and have received significant outcomes.
In this context, Inua Village to Global Foundation has adopted various strategies to ensure that they become contributors to rural development. One of the things that Inua Village to Global Foundation learned in the very early months was a need of an all-inclusive intervention. An approach that would bring together everyone within a rural set-up. Having noted the deficits of either working with Children alone, women, young or even men separately- They opted for a model that would allow everyone to be reached and supported.
For instance- If they were only to support children to access education, then the needs and support that should come from parents would greatly affect the outcomes of the children. Working with parents or women alone would have a similar result.
This understanding that for rural communities to develop and beat poverty, then everyone had to be reached led to creation of Inua Village to Global Foundation ecosystem that has a community school and scholarship program for young people, Inua Village community industries that empower parents to work and generate income, Inua Village Farming that ensures a whole community has food and Inua Village Saving and Credit cooperative that enables communities to build wealth step by step.
So yes, to have a whole inclusive approach that ensures women, men, children and young people can participate in activities and programming that leads to development would ensure rural poverty is defeated and developing countries can begin to realize an all inclusive development.
