Importance Of School Uniforms In Community Schools
When learners wear uniforms that display their school’s name, colors, or mascot, it can help boost the overall morale of the learners while encouraging school spirit. School uniforms help to increase learners’ sense of belonging, promote unity among the learners, and sense of unity. This encourages learners to feel more positive and become more active in class. It is through these positive results that resonated throughout the year high grades from learners.
However, School uniforms are one of the second expensive items on the school list of items, After-school fees. The above mentioned, is a challenge in acquiring quality education in rural areas and is becoming a plague day by day
Many learners from rural communities can’t afford school uniforms, this at times makes them dress in plain cloths (home cloth). This reduces their level of activeness in class, lowers their self-esteem and affects their performance in class.
Most pupils in the rural areas in both public schools and community schools struggle to acquire a set of school uniforms. As Inua Village to Global Foundation, we would like to share experience from our community school i.e. Furaha Inua Global school in Namunyiri in Kakamega county, Village to global Achievers school in Vihiga county and Lucia Global school in Soweto slums in Nairobi. Even though government has come up with free primary education
70% of our pupils can’t afford to buy a set of school uniform, at times the suppliers are not available within their reach. And over time many pupils feel out of place because they are not in full school uniform.
As part of solving this challenge, Inua Village to global Foundation has entered into partnership with Inua Textile Industries to produce school uniforms for community schools for free, all you can do is to donate a pair of uniforms that goes for 800 Kshs ($8)
Change the lives of community children by donating a pair of school uniforms.
